My name is Alan, and welcome to Hannaford and Sons Ltd, a family-run business with over 35 years of experience in groundwork and hard landscaping. My dedicated team helps provide a wide range of groundwork skills to meet your needs, including driveways, patios, paths, tarmac, block paving, brickwork, and more. We also specialize in foundations, drainage, substructures, soakaways, and septic tanks. If it's on the ground or in it, we can do it!
We work in the East Sussex area and are based in Eastbourne. My staff are fully trained with CITB accreditation. I have an NVQ level 6 in Management, and my team members have NVQ Level 2 in groundworks. We are all fully trained in the use of excavators, dumpers, disc cutters, etc.

Latest Projects
As a result of an inadequate damp survey for our house purchase, we were left with a major damp problem caused by a poorly installed Aco drainage system and a driveway needing to be lowered below the existing damp course. Alan came on board, connected the malfunctioning Aco drain to the main drainage system and relayed the sloping driveway to the correct angle. Alan and his son also transformed our back garden replacing a dated water feature with a lovely new spacious patio area. Alan is a lovely guy, and we recommend him for any drainage, driveway or patio works.

From posting the requirement to checkatrade, Alan quickly responded and arranged to come and see the job that afternoon. We agreed the job and they were able to fit me in a few days later. Turned up on time, explained exactly what they were going to do and cracked on in a timely manner. After they finished, they cleaned up nicely and I was very happy with the work. Very easy to deal with, and very professional, I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others
Re-lay 8 loose patio slabs
We called Hannaford and sons in for a repair to tarmac caused by a skip lorry's outriggers. Being a pathway of residential flats, we needed them to action the repairs quickly as it was part of the walkway for the elderly. They coned off the area and actioned the works layer in the evening Alan inspected / excavated the area and checked to see if it was just surface damage. New tarmac laid and I must say, I'm impressed with how neat the new tarmac looks. It's completely level to the existing. (Shame you can't take on the council's pot holes). Great work by friendly guys.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Hannaford & Sons for the repair of my driveway. From start to finish, Alan and his sons professionalism, expertise, and attention to detail exceeded my expectations. I cannot recommend them highly enough for their exceptional issue resolution and top-notch workmanship. The first aspect that impressed me was their ability to quickly identify and pinpoint the issue with my drive and drainage which was causing serious damp to my home.
